Christmas at Van Antonis is a PARTY affair!!

A wonderfully varied set price menu ensures great value for money and with plate smashing, Greek dancing and a disco you're in for a memorable night!

Greek MEZE - House speciality!
A wonderful taste of the Mediterranean - A combination of cold and hot starters with a fish course, mixed grill and served with a Greek salad. Finishing off with a delicious selection of greek sweets, ice cream or fruit salad. A great way to enjoy a meal with friends!(Min. 4 persons)

Seasonal soup of the day

Trio of Greek dips
Taramasalata, houmous and tzanziki served with warm pitta bread

Kalamari
Deep-fried battered rounds of tender squid served with Greek salad and marinated olives

Whitebait
Deep-fried small fry served with tossed salad and lemon wedges

Van Antonis prawn platter
Chilled Icelandic prawns served on a bed of shredded salad, tomato and diced cucumber topped with a Marie rose sauce

Manitaria (v)
Garlic mushrooms pan fried with olive oil and flat leaf parsley, finished with lemon and sea salt served on a chargrilled garlic crouton

Halloumi (v)
Cypriot cheese grilled and served with watermelon

Dolmades
Spiced minced beef and rice wrapped in minted vine leaves served on a piquant tomato sauce and herb pitta

Fish cakes
salmon fish cakes with a light citrus and dill dressing

 

Main Courses

Van Antonis Kleftiko
Slow braised lamb on the bone cooked till it 'melts in the mouth' roasted with fresh herbs served on a spiced ragout of vegetables with roast potatoes, topped with a red wine sauce

Souvlakia (Lamb Kebab)
Classic Greek dish combining tender cubes of marinated lamb char grilled on a skewer served with a sharp citrus dressing and a timbal of herb braised rice

Kotopoulo souvlaki (Chicken kebab)
Two skewers of marinated and cubed breast of free range chicken char grilled and served with ratatouille and braised saffron rice

Spanakopitta (v) (Spinach pie)
Feta cheese and spinach wrapped in filo pastry served with spicy vegetables, herb braised rice and tzanziki

Van Antonis 'Steki'
Trimmed and tenderized Prime Sirloin steak char grilled to your liking served with a choice of sauces: red wine, pepper or Diane. Served with potatoes: chipped, mashed or roast

Moussaka
A classic dish combining minced beef, courgettes, aubergine, potato and cinnamon baked in a creamy bechemel sauce topped with melted cheese

Vegetarian Moussaka (v)
A classic dish combinig Mediterranean vegetables, courgettes, aubergine, potato and cinnamon baked in a creamy bechemel sauce topped with melted cheese

Boneless fillets of fresh Seabass
Simply grilled with lemon and citrus butter on a bed of lyonaisse potatoes

Stifado
Braised cubes of beef steak, shallots, red wine and vinegar come together in this unique dish served with herb rice
